
Haydar YALCIN

Haydar Yalçın is an aeronautical engineer with over 30 years’ experience in civil aviation regulation, safety oversight and international aviation policy. He joined the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in 1989 and spent 32 years with the Authority, including 17 years as Deputy Director General, before retiring from public service.
During his career, Mr Yalçın represented Turkey at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as National Continuous Monitoring Coordinator (NCMC). He also served on ICAO panels and working groups, including the Safety Management Panel (SMP), and contributed to initiatives under the Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP) and the Global Aviation Safety Oversight System (GASOS). He has also served as Acting Chair of the Regional Aviation Safety Group – Europe (RASG-EUR).
Mr Yalçın was unanimously elected President of EUROCONTROL’s Provisional Council for two consecutive terms. He has served as a Member of the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) Board of Governors, and as a Senior Adviser and Senior Expert to EUROCONTROL. He is currently Vice President (Middle East) at the International Federation of Airworthiness and sits on the Advisory Board of the World UAV Federation.
