Mr Armutlu specialises in complex, high-value international arbitration and commercial litigation. He has a long track record of successive wins and major settlements in the High Court, Court of Appeal and International Arbitrations.
He is known amongst peers and colleagues for not shying away from the cases that at the onset may appear to have little chance of succeeding and, exhausting all possible means to produce legal arguments and challenges based upon his sheer determination to succeed for his clients.
He has a strong background in handling aggressive litigation both on behalf of, and against international clients.
He was the main solicitor in the successful class action for 838 Claimants made against two global Airline companies and fought tirelessly in litigation panning over eight years, with the case being published.

In one of his most recent cases, Mr Armutlu’s efforts were recognised when the Court of Appeal gave guidance on when a non-party costs order would be made against directors or shareholders of an insolvent company engaged in litigation.

His experience includes representing clients in arbitrations administered by various arbitrational institutions and disputes in the High Court. Mr Armutlu recently was instructed by a prominent Turkish energy company in an ICC arbitration matter regarding an international sale of goods dispute in energy (powerplant) sector against a global energy company.
Mr Armutlu regularly receive high value instructions from international clients and has successfully settled multi-millions of pounds claims in advance of matters reaching trial.
Mr Armutlu is also president of Turkish Speaking Lawyers Association.
